FAKE TYRE MANUFACTURING & EXPORT BUSTED

In the year 2016, Instaquest reached a milestone in its investigative process in the automotive industry when Bridgestone Corporation approached us to conduct a critical investigation in India.

During our Investigation we successfully uncovered a very renowned tyre manufacturing company in South India which was later discovered to be involved in manufacturing and exporting tyres under the name “BRIDESTONE” to Nepal, which was almost completely identical to the client’s registered trademark “BRIDGESTONE”.

As a result of InstaQuest findings, the matter was in Delhi High Court and the Director and the Managing Director of the company admitted that they had been exporting tyres under the name “BRIDESTONE”.

Furthermore, the Director and Managing Director acknowledged that they were bound by the permanent injunction prohibiting them from selling tyres under the brand name “BRIDESTONE”. They offered an unconditional apology and offered to pay INR 30,00,000 (approx. USD 46,500)* to Bridgestone in order to compensate them for damages incurred by them due to the export of tyres under the mark “BRIDESTONE”, as well as deposit INR 500,000 (approx. USD 7,750)* with the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
